S03E05

Emily: We’re back! And so is Bubbles. Everything is better with Bubbles around.

Sam: It is! I was so happy to have him back in my life. He had some particularly great lines to start this episode. I, for one, am going to accuse people of “equivocating like a motherfucker” all the time now. Also, when he agrees to do the short con with the guy on the ladder, he says something like “With a white man, I better be the bad guy. Wouldn’t want to confuse him.” Continue reading

The Wire Watchalong: A Brief Hiatus

In an attempt at professionalism, we here at An Inanimate Fucking Blog would like to take this opportunity to inform you that the watchalong for The Wire is being briefly suspended. Sam has a Big Professional Certification Exam coming up in the first week of November, and for some reason, that takes precedence over a blog series on a show that’s been over for half a dozen years already.

The watchalong will resume in mid-November. Thank you for your patience.

S02E09

Sam: That stupid duck. I told them last write-up that the duck shouldn’t be drinking alcohol. I hate that The Wire is so realistic. No fairytale endings for ducks in this show.

Emily: In a lesser show, we wouldn’t have even seen the duck ever again, nevermind showing that actions have consequences.

Sam: That’s exactly it. The duck died because of course the duck died. Ducks die if you give them alcohol. And in this show, we have to deal with it.

Emily: This episode was all about things reaching their most logical conclusion. You put McNulty in a room with two prostitutes and people are going to get naked. Continue reading
