In an attempt at professionalism, we here at An Inanimate Fucking Blog would like to take this opportunity to inform you that the watchalong for The Wire is being briefly suspended. Sam has a Big Professional Certification Exam coming up in the first week of November, and for some reason, that takes precedence over a blog series on a show that’s been over for half a dozen years already.

This Week in the Box
As you may have noticed, it’s April 23rd. At least, that’s what it must be, because the last post for the This Week in the Box series is from April 16th, and clearly Sam would never let the project fall that far behind. Obviously.
Sam has seen more movies than that, but was behind even before a spontaneous move of apartments in July. The series is not done, it will all come out okay in the end, honest, but we ask that you continue to be patient while she gets her act together.
The Wire
Speaking of that spontaneous move within Chicago in the month of July… we still owe you the writeup of the last three episodes of the first season of The Wire, but that one does have a timetable we can report. This weekend, August 2-3, that post will appear, and we’ll start season two that week. We will be back to the schedule of two episodes a week for the month of August as planned. See you there!
This summer, we will be watching The Wire. Each week, we will watch two episodes and will post about them over the weekend. This week, we will begin with episodes S01E01 and S01E02 and will post about them on Sunday, June 8. Please join us. Hi! We’re Sam and Emily, and welcome to our new pop culture blog! Now we will introduce ourselves and the blog, presented in a fun Q and A format.
Q. Why are you doing a Q and A format?
A. Because Sam likes to type to herself in a Q and A format. Don’t worry, her posts won’t be more than half the content on this blog, you can skip right over them if you hate them.
Q. Why are you starting a blog?
A. Because we think have interesting things to say on various pieces of pop culture and this is a great format to do that.
Q. How often are you going to post? I don’t have time to read all your stuff. I only like you so much.
A. We understand. We hope to post consistently enough to keep you interested and not so much we drive you insane.
Q. I loved the site back when it was all pink and blue. Why is it different?
A. We have no idea what we’re going. Please bear with us through our initial (and continuing) growing pains and be warned that things might change wildly from day to day (or minute to minute) as we change everything from the colors to our editorial tone.
Q. How can I complain to you when you get something TOTALLY WRONG?

Q. Why exactly is the username on this post inanimateblogblog?
A. Because we needed an administrative type account and we thought it was amusing.
Q. Who’s going to do what?
A. Emily will be covering primarily TV and Sam will be covering primarily movies, with some sports thrown in. We’ll both cover whatever other miscellaneous pop culture we see fit to cover.
